Our Story
Since 1987, the same man has designed every tool we sell.
Dan Tyroler started this company in 1987 with one product: a broom cast from 100% natural rubber. He still runs it. He still designs the tools. Nearly four decades later, that’s the whole story — and the whole reason our tools feel different in your hand.
It started with a broom nobody else would make.
In 1987, Dan had one product and one conviction: the cleaning tools people were buying were badly made, and nobody in the industry seemed to mind.
His first product was a broom cast from 100% natural rubber — heavier to produce, more expensive to tool, and far better at its job than the plastic-bristle brooms it sat next to on the shelf. It sold. Not because of marketing, but because people who used one didn’t go back.
That set the pattern for everything since: make the version of the tool that costs more to build, and let the tool do the arguing.
Then came the squeegee that sold out in days.
A few years in, Dan developed a floor squeegee that did two jobs in one pass — cleaning and clearing the water, with nothing left behind to dry into streaks. It was a small idea with an obvious payoff, and the response was immediate.
Tens of thousands of inquiries came in from customers and retailers. The entire stock was gone within days.
That was the moment the company stopped being a one-product operation. It’s also when Dan started patenting the designs — because the tools were now good enough to be worth copying.
We own the factory. That’s rarer than it sounds.
Most cleaning tools sold in the U.S. are designed by one company, manufactured by another, and never touched by either. Ours aren’t.
Every Tyroler tool is developed and produced in our own facility — not sourced from a catalog, not rebranded from someone else’s line. Dan is in the building. When a mold is wrong, he knows within a day, not within a shipping season.
Orders ship from our California warehouse, usually the same or next business day.
That’s why our tools cost more than the ones next to them, and why we can put a 100% warranty on every single one.
Some of our best tools were your ideas first.
Customer service isn’t a cost center here — it’s where product development starts. People write in with a problem, a frustration, sometimes a sketch. More than one product in our catalog exists because a customer asked for it.
Today the catalog runs to about 50 tools, sold in over 1,000 retail locations and across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Australia. Every one of them started the same way: someone found a job that the existing tool did badly.
A 100% warranty is easy to offer when you built the thing.
We guarantee every tool we sell, without exception. That’s not a marketing decision — it’s arithmetic. When you design the tool, own the tooling and run the line, you know exactly what your return rate is going to be.
If a Tyroler tool doesn’t hold up, we replace it.
Thirty-nine years. Same founder. Same standard.
Dan still approves every new product before it goes into production. If that sounds old-fashioned, that’s the point.
